Friday Fancies: Fall for you.

Can you believe we've reached another Friday?? I'm finally organized and in one place for long enough this week to get a Friday Fancies post together and I couldn't be happier about it! I'm moving back to the city next week so even though it's still warm here I am looking forward to richer colors and more layers in the coming weeks! Here are some of my favorite pieces right now :)
  1. I'm really loving feminine, dainty tops like this one. I bought a couple on my recent trip and I'm a tad obsessed. This beautiful blue shade would move to the top of my wardrobe rotation quite quickly.
  2. Since I can remember I always looked forward to picking out my school supplies. My tastes may have changed from notebooks with Disney princesses to the Moleskine variety but my level of excitement certainly has not dwindled.
  3. This fall I really want to pair light, floaty tops such as this one with more masculine items such as these brogues. I like these ones because they remind me of the slightly feminine Madewell version, but this H&M pair rings in at an extra lovely $40.
  4. I am on a mad hunt right now for the perfect back to school watch. Currently I'm leaning towards a Fossil version but this one is really quite perfect as well.
  5. A lovely little top like this blue one would be adorable loosely tucked into higher waisted shorts like these. Plus, the pleats would make me feel like I was headed to a very stylish private school :)
  6. This beautiful color by Essie just screams autumn to me. I would love to write my first papers of the semester with my fingers looking like this!
What items are topping your ladies' wish lists right now? Don't forget to head on over to Long Distance Loving for more Friday Fancies!

Objects of desire.

{My new necklace, bow shirt and sparkly nails}

These last couple weeks have truly been a whirlwind of activity! I'm currently on my second trip in two weeks and in a few days I will be moving back to the city for school! It's all very exciting but also quite stressful and tiring. There have been some things that have helped keep me calm, read on!

{Fruit tarts that I baked for my boyfriend's birthday celebration}

{Sparkly nails and starbucks}

{Some new purchases that are accompanying me on my trip}

{My sister's new shoes that I am very jealous of}

What are you favorite things this week?

Happy Thursday, ladies :)

Food.

{One of many eggs benny for consumed at breakfast}

During our road trip we spent most nights camping. While I love sleeping under the stars, it's not necessarily the most luxurious or comfortable activity. Because of this, we decided that eating out more than usual was just fine. True to form I ate the same meals over and over. My favorites? Eggs benedict, green salad with oil and vinegar and far more tea than any body should consume. Here are some of the other meals from our trip :)

{Yummy pasta at the hotel restaurant}

{Not quite as amazing as Cafe Crepe but very delicious. I had a vegetarian!}

{Cupcakes from an adorable little shop downtown}

{I ate this delicious shrimp and feta pizza while curled up in my lovely hotel bed :)}

What are you favorite foods? Do you ladies make any of these yummy dishes yourself? My mom makes the best eggs benedict ever :)

Plane essentials.

Yesterday I hopped on a plane at the very sad hour of 6am. Thankfully I had laid out my outfit the night before so naturally I felt much better. Sometimes it's the little things that make long, tiring days so much better.
  1. Easy, breezy shirts that help you stay chic and comfy all day long.
  2. Classic sunnies for hiding your tired eyes.
  3. I'm in love with simple studs these days so naturally these are on my list.
  4. I always travel with my trusty MacBook. Helps me stay entertained and I can get some blogging done on layovers.
  5. I'm currently on the hunt for big, masculine watches like this one. Love the leather strap.
  6. Such an adorable tote. The denim makes me want to pack just for the sake of packing and I HATE packing.
  7. These bow shorts would add a healthy dose of femininity to this look.
  8. Comfy shoes are a must in my mind for traveling. These babies certainly don't give up any style points though and I love the patent.

Scenes from a road trip.

{Out for dinner on our last night in the city}

I'm home! Last week's trip was so much fun. Nights were spent cuddled up in my cozy sleeping bag and days were spent on the road, exploring little towns, shopping and swimming at this crazy water park (!) I have plenty of photos to share, but since I have a flight to catch in a mere 6 hours, I thought I'd quickly share some of my favorite highlights from the trip.

{We saw an elk on the highway! So exciting, and a little bit scary}

{We stopped for a picnic lunch at a park high up in the mountains}

{On our last day in the city we treated ourselves to cupcakes!}

How were your ladies' weekends? Were any fun adventures had? Care to share? :)

Since I finished working for the summer, this has pretty much become my daytime uniform. I bought this shirt from a little boutique where I live and it has become a staple in my wardrobe rotation. I've been pairing it with cutoff jeans and my new gold leaf necklace.

Happy hump day, my lovelies!

Road trippin it.

Right now I'm on day 3 on my road trip! I thought that it would be fun to lay out some of the most important road trip essentials. There are some things that make hours in a car and nights in a tent so much more fun.
  1. Easy, breezy tops that can be worn with casual shorts while driving but then can be tucked into skinny jeans or with a skirt for when you reach your destination.
  2. Classic aviators make road tripping so much cooler.
  3. A dewy, healthy looking face with bold fun lips are all you need.
  4. Very clearly a road trip staple.
  5. This bag is so pretty and would hold all of your lovely dresses for when you finally reach that hotel.
  6. Bathing suits don't get much more adorable than this hot little number.
  7. These TOMS have been re-invented in a grey tweed which makes my favorite comfy shoe so much better.
What would you ladies deem necessary on a road trip? Have you ever taken a long car ride? Any tips??

This past weekend was beyond amazing. I spend a couple days at my boyfriend's lake cabin to celebrate his birthday. His family from England (!) was visiting and I got to meet them for the first time! It was an amazing experience :)

Heading out!

{photo courtesy of pinterest}

Things have been a little crazy around here for the past 24 hours! I'm trying to get myself organized and packed for not 1, not 2, but 3 trips coming up! I'm leaving in a couple of hours for my boyfriend's birthday celebration with his family tonight and tomorrow at his lake cabin. On Sunday I'm heading out for a 6 day road trip with my sister and a couple of our friends! And then a week after that her and I are hopping on a plane and going to visit some family :)

My plan for today is to finish baking fruit flans! I've been joking with my boyfriend that I would try to be more domestic and learn to bake something so I'm surprising him with 2 dozen fruit tarts. I also got this t-shirt for him :)

Posting will continue as usual, so don't forget to check in! Have a fabulous weekend, my sweets.

{Crocheted TOMS shoes that look like lace}

This week has been quite the whirlwind. I went bungee jumping on Sunday and then worked my last 2 shifts of work for the summer and passed my driving test! Things won't be slowing down any time soon though. Next week my sister, a couple of our friends and I will be setting out on a 6 day road trip! After that her and I are hopping on a plane to go visit some family :) With things being so crazy I have needed the little things to keep me calm and inspired.

{Drug store essentials}

{Bright and beautiful lilies in the backyard}

{Hot tea and cold tea at one time with my eggs benny}

What are the little things that are helping you ladies stay cool and collected these days? Do tell!

Fit for a party.

This weekend I'm heading down to my boyfriend's house for his family birthday celebration. I can't decide what to wear but I'm leaning towards something sweet and feminine. These dresses from Modcloth are all so adorable and I would love to sport one for the occasion.

Which dress is your favorite, my darlings?? I'm particularly sweet on the two blue ones :)

Weekend of adventures.

bike scarf half body

Well hello! I apologize for my lack of posting yesterday but I was busy jumping off bridges! My boyfriend is turning 20 (!) this weekend so I took him bungee jumping! It was amazing and we were both riding a wave of adrenaline for the rest of the weekend. After our big leap of faith we spent the next couple gorgeous days soaking up the rays at his lake cabin. It was such an amazing weekend and I wish it wasn't over! But the good news is that it's only 3 days until I'm back there for the big birthday celebration with his family.

Pictures from our adventures will be coming soon and I have some exciting news coming up so I'll be sharing it soon! Hope you all had a great weekend :)
