For our second instalment of Pattern Play, I decided to go with something a little unexpected. Plaid is a pattern that really doesn't receive much credit, including from me. I tend to stay away from plaid pieces, but after perusing the internets for this feature, I realized that it is also an underrated pattern. I hope you enjoy this little foray into the world of plaid.
1/ Now, how cute are these?? The pattern, the bows, and the little laces all make for a gorgeous little shoe.
2/ This dress would be so perfect for a day filled with brunch, thrifting and exploring your neighbourhood. Plus, it would be a great transition piece, as the thicker fabric and modest cut would keep you a bit warmer during those hard-to-dress-for times.
3/ Anthropologie makes the best table wear I have ever seen, and they certainly did not miss the mark with these. I love the handmade, water color take on plaid that they used for these, and they would be such a pretty addition to a summer table.
4/ This little print features some of our favorite patterns, but the one on top is our baby this week.
5/ This may technically be gingam, but I have decided (after considering its cute factor) that it qualifies for our round-up this week. Adorn your walls, planner or snail mail with this tape.
6/ I'm on the hunt for the perfect one piece for this summer, and this suit, with its pastel shade and adorable neckline is certainly being considered. Bonus? It's on sale!
Did you give the brush-off to plaid before? Are you going to give it a bit more of a shot now? What other patterns would you like to see featured here?

I love plaid! I've always been a fan.. although I feel it's much more of a fall/winter pattern. I'm really into paisley right now but I haven't found the right piece yet.
ReplyDeleteAlso.. thanks for stopping by my blog :)
agreed!! plus, it reminds me of camping trips, ha! :)
ReplyDeleteof course! your blog is adorable :) i'm glad you liked plaid, and I usually think of it as a cold-weather fabric, that's why I wanted to see how it would work for warmer months!
ReplyDeleteI actually really like plaid! I think it can work as an all year pattern- summer- with shorts and some country music and in the winter with jeans and snow boots! The second one may not be the most fashionable, but at least it's warm! :)
