Hello friends! This here is week three of our special tea party affairs, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the turn-out so far! Feel free to invite your friends, the more the merrier! Here are this week's questions, and my own answers below.
1/ As usual, what have you ordered on this fine day?
2/ I'd love to know, what is your main job these days (the one that pays the rent and buys the pretty shoes) and do you have a "midnight hustle" on the side?
3/ If you had $100 extra right now, what would you do with it?
4/ What did you do for dinner last night? Did you cook up something amazing? Order takeout from your favorite place?
5/ Are you an organized person? What is the biggest thing you do to stay on top of your work & life responsibilities?
6/ Just like last week, do you have a blog or site that we should check out?
Here are my answers!
1/ Since I let the cat out of the bag on Twitter yesterday, I suppose I can reveal the drink I most often order at Starbucks. A steamed apple juice. Not a fancy apple cider, just a straight up hot cup of apple juice. The only other people I have heard order this are usually still rocking the stroller and teddy bear look.
2/ My main job is an office job, where I plan events and coordinate marketing efforts for a department at my university. However, my real passion (and where I spend a chunk of my time) is on this blog. My new (and scary!) venture is a small design service business, which you can now check out over here! Of course, it is my dream to turn these pursuits into the full-time, bill-paying sort of thing.
3/ I would probably be boring and save it. Right now, I am trying my best to save up for the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as a pretty white iPhone 4S. Hence, the $100 would go to that fund!
4/ I've been pretty bad about cooking real dinners lately, but last night my boyfriend and I made a stop at the grocery store on our way home from yoga and picked up some yummy chicken. We had that with steamed vegetables and raspberries!
5/ I wouldn't say that I am a naturally organized person, but it is definitely something that I am working on, mostly out of sheer necessity! My main tip is 2-fold. Number one is to make sure my organizational tools are pleasing for the eye. If they aren't, then I probably won't use them, ha! Secondly, to-do lists are my savior. I right them all the time and recently found this app from SwissMiss which is a lifesaver.
6/ You're here! But if you feel so inclined, you may also check out my other, newer site as well :)

1/ I didn't order anything fancy today. I bought lunch at a convenience store outside the office - it was actually a breakfast meal - I also had banana, and prepared my own tea from the office pantry.
ReplyDelete2/I'm working full-time as an Associate Publishing Specialist and I have a part-time job as a tutor to Koreans (I spend 2 hours with my students after work, three days a week).
3/ If I have $100 extra, I'd use it to pay my credit card bill, to take out a huge chunk out of my debt. And be debt-free asap!
4/ I usually have dinner at my student's house. Last night, we had kimchi fried rice, dumplings and soup. On most days, I order take out coz I can't cook at home.
5/ I'm organized on most days. Just like you, I have a list of things to do or have someone remind me of what else needs to be done. :D
6/Yes, please do check out http://nicajoice.blogspot.com It is a space where I share personal thoughts, realizations, experiences and a lot of new things that I get to learn daily.
Your posts are always fun and interesting Kendra! Keep 'em coming. :) Looking forward to the next tea party!
1/ I've been a bit naughty and ordered the beetroot & chocolate cheesecake. Shhh!
ReplyDelete2/ My main job is a parts interpreter for a truck company. I'm the only female in the branch and am in control of the spare parts and who gets them. To contradict that, my side job is running an online vintage boutique, Autumn April Vintage (link below).
3/ I'd invest $100 in new stock for A.A.V. More vintage dresses for my lovely buyers!
4/ My fella cooked dinner last night (lucky me!). We had steak and steamed vegetables. I am very much a carnivore!
5/ I like to think I'm organised, but I'm really not. It must be a sign from the universe, you asking this question, because I was just planning Operation Organise The House for the weekend. I have to come up with some ways to better utilise the spaces in the house. I too am a list maker!

1/ i ordered a caramel frappuccino. it just sounds good in this hot oklahoma heat!
ReplyDelete2/ i am a bookkeeper at my grandma's accounting office. it's so fun!
3/ if i had an extra $100 right now, i would put it toward my ipad fund :)
4/ for dinner last night, i made the most amazing salad of my life. lettuce, black olives, parmesan, cheese, tomatoes, and vinaigrette caesar with parmesan dressing.
5/ i am an organized person. if things are a mess, i become slightly frantic. i have post-it notes everywhere!
6/ my blog is www.beautyinhumbleplaces.com
1. A lemon iced tea would go down very well this morning
ReplyDelete2. At the moment I'm not working since coming to Canada to travel around a bit first. Before coming to Canada I was the UK Marketing Manager for a Swedish company. Travelling is giving me the opportunity to learn more thanks to having the time so maybe I'll go down a different route when beginning my career in Canada. Still around marketing though.
3. Put it towards doing the CNN tower walk. It looks so scary but would be a great experience
4. Last night a Canadian friend took us out to his parents house for dinner. We had steak, stuffed potatoes and stated mushrooms. Such a lovely meal with lovely people.
5. I'm uber organised. Staying tidy is key for me. That way everything is easy to find. I would say I have a good memory so that always helps too. My friends liken me to the. Haracter of Monica in the show friends.
6. agirlsimagination.com haven't posted in awhile as last weeks travels were crazy. Hoping to get a post up today on our latest travels.
Apologies for the typos. Predictive typing isn't the best and disqus wouldnt let me edit.
ReplyDeleteHello lovely ladies!
ReplyDelete1/ Today I ordered a plain black coffee with a lot of cream, and some cinnamon. YUM, and sugar-less!
2/ I'm currently working at our town's local newspaper, as an assistant to the publisher, and receptionist. It's not the best, but like you said, it pays the bills. My midnight hustle would have to be... blogging, but I don't get paid for that... yet. ;)
3/ If I had $100 right now, I would buy a new bra (a pretty one!) and a summer comforter for mine and my hubby's bed.
4/ Aw last night was the first night in a while that I didn't actually cook for Dan and I! I was too tired, so I just made myself some oatmeal with raisins and milk, and some cherries on the side.
5/ I am very very organized, always have been. Becoming a wife and working a 30-hour a week job has compromised my organization a little bit, but not entirely. Am still learning to prioritize!
6/ Of course I have a blog you should all check out, my own! Http://flightofcara.blogspot.com
Thanks for this awesome fun time! Love, Cara
1. Today I ordered an iced green tea lemonade.
ReplyDelete2. I don't have a job at all right now. I'm a full-time university student, so I don't have much free time. However, I'm working on getting my old Starbucks job back for the fall and winter, if my boss lets me. Wish me luck!
3. If I had an extra $100 I'd go get my hair cut. I've been putting it off for months and it's at the point where my only hair option is a ponytail...
4. For dinner last night I just had a quick bowl of pasta because I was on my way out the door to meet some friends for the campus pub's trivia night (we didn't win).
5. I am extremely organized, almost to the point of obsession. The biggest thing I do is make schedules/to-do lists for everything so that every important thing is planned out in advance.
6. My blog is http://happyandhectic.blogspot.ca/
I'm glad you enjoy the tea parties! Debt sucks, so I think your plan would be good!
ReplyDeletethat's such a cool job! your vintage shop is so amazing!!
ReplyDeletethat salad sounds amazing, and your job is sweet! i totally get the post-it notes! :)

3/ I would be buying things in preparation for Mr.Man's 1st Birthday.
4/ I made myself a spinach and artichoke quesadilla
5/ Unfortunately not really. Google is the best thing to ever happen to me. Email, Calender, Documents all right there. It's lovely.
6/ Of course! I have my store which I am sure if you are a faithful reader you already know about because Kendra has been awesome about telling her readers all about it. www.penelopelaneclothing.com
1. I ordered a English Breakfast Tea because it's rainy and miserable where I live at the moment, and Tea just makes everything better.
ReplyDelete2. My main job is I work for a TV station in the advertising department - I love it :-)
3. I'm working on building up some timeless pieces in my wardrobe, so I'd maybe invest in a decent pair of black pumps or some nice dark denim jeans
4. Last night I made fried rice. I'm not much of a cook and tend to have a set of meals that I make in rotation - a bit boring but it works for me, and there's always eating out heh.
5. I love being organised and I try to be as much as I can. Lists are a big thing, as is sorting. Much agreed about the stationery too - I've been keeping diaries since I was 14! I'm going on a ski trip in August with a group of six friends, and so far have done most of the organising (mainly cause I can't help myself!)
6. Nope, no blog.. One day though!!
1) I ordered fresh peppermint tea - I have at least one cup every day
ReplyDelete2) My main job is a secretary to scientists at Cambridge University, UK. I know nothing about science (Genetics).
3) I would probably spend the extra dosh on supplies for my Etsy shop, soon to be launched. I'm investigating packaging at the moment!
4) Last night I ordered in & had a gourmet pizza with feta, spinach, sundried tomatoes. Yum.
5) I like to think I'm uber organised and have to do list notepads for life, business and blog. However, I've become rather messy and the bf has to nag me to do things now. I also use Evernote app to stay on top of things and collate ideas.
6) I blog over at www.claireabellemakes.com and recently posted about an afternoon tea trip I took to a famous apple orchard garden in Cambridge.
#1 A hot chocolate! It's kind of cold in Montreal compared to last week when it was like 45°C. So a hot chocolate will make me feel good!
ReplyDelete#2 I am a restaurant manager. I do a bit of freelance writing and I would love to do some designs as well. Ultimately, I want to be a web entrepreneur.
#3 SAVE IT. Ahhhh debts.
#4 Frozen pizza (yeah... not too fancy huh!?) and a green salad (yay!). I wanted to have some BBQ but it was raining, so plan B it was.
#5 A-G-E-N-D-A. It's my bestfriend! I write everything in it or else I won't make it. Studying full-time, working full-time and blogging full-time (well everyday) make me kind of busy and my head simply cannot remember everything!
