Tea Party // 5

Tuesdays have definitely become one of the highlights of my week, and I get so excited to read everyone's responses! It has became a really bright spot amid hectic weeks and I want to thank you all for participating and making the good times possible! So here goes another set of questions, and my answers below.

1/ As always, what are you ordering today?
2/ Are there any books on your shelf/night stand right now? Anything to recommend?
3/ What is your go-to recipe? That thing that you can always count on when you need to bring an awesome item to a dinner party, or are cooking up a yummy feast.
4/ What is one item that you would love to purchase for your home right now?
5/ What is your favorite quote? Why do these words mean so much to you?

Here are my answers!

1/ I'm trying to be healthy right now, so I ordered a cup of steaming green tea.
2/ I just finished Creative, INC. and it was amazing! I'm waiting very impatiently for Joy's next book, Blog, INC. to be released in September! I also ordered Emily's book yesterday which I can't wait to arrive.
3/ I'm not much of a cook, but I made this a couple of times and it is amazing! I would highly recommend it next time you need a good recipe.
4/ I'm moving into a new apartment in just over a month, and I need to buy a couch for it! I have my eye on a really pretty one at the moment.
5/ I have a whole pinboard of quotes that I love, but right now my favorite would be "I think the biggest design project anyone can have is their own life." I love this because it reminds me to live a life with intention and to design the world that I want to live in.

Thanks for participating and don't forget that we can all comment on each other's responses, and really get a nice little chat going!!

  2. hello miss!

1.) lets change this up a bit.. I ordered a passion tea lemonade
2.) I will admit I just finished "50 Shades of Grey" haha I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. It's funny.. I just ordered Emily's book too! I cannot wait!
3.) I make a pretty yummy lasagna or my specialty is chocolate peanut butter cookies.. which can be found on my blog under recipes!
4.) I would love to purchase some art or maybe a big rug for my entrance hallway! Rugs are so expensive!!
5.) I have always loved the quote " the one thing you want most, is usually the one thing you can't have. Yet those who tend to suffer most are those who don't know what they want" I just think this relates to everyones lives. If you want something you gotta go for it!

  3. Hi Kendra!!! Happy Tea Party day, Yay!

1/ Today I just need a latte with an extra shot. I'm too tired to want anything else.

2/ Yes! I am almost finished with 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp (recommend!!!) and near the middle of the first Hunger Games book. I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon when everyone and their mother was reading it, but now I see WHY they were reading it. SO GOOD.

3/ My go-to recipe has got to be... chicken cooked in the frying pan with no coating other than either Italian dressing, or BBQ sauce. My husband DIES everytime I make that for him, with potato salad and green beans on the side. YUM.

4/ A bigger apartment. I don't know if that's sneaking around the rules for this question, but I'm dying for an apartment bigger than one tiny little studio.

5/ I am obsessed with quotes far too much. But at the moment what's coming to mind is John 15:7, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."Happy Tuesday, Kendra!!!

  7. Hey, I love it when tea party time rolls around again!

    1. A hot chocolate, because I'm in the mood for something comforting :)
    2. I'm working my way through the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovich, it's kind of like Harry Potter meets the London Metropolitan Police, it's pretty good!
    3. I make a pretty mean roast chicken, if I do say so myself. I shove sage and butter under the skin so that the meat tastes quite sagey and it actually goes a little green - it sounds strange but its amazing.
    4. I would love a beautiful old bookshelf, or a desk all to myself to do my writing on. But first I would need to live in a space that could fit either of these things!
    5. "This too shall pass", because my step father always says it to me when things get rough and it reminds me that when I'm having a tough time, the horrible feeling that comes from that doesn't represent my whole life.

  9. I love these tea parties!

    1. I ordered a green tea too - I'm on a health kick at the moment and the stuff is apparently amazing for you!
    2. My book is probably Lauren Conrads - Style... Deep, I know haha, but I bought it a few weeks back and love flipping through it. I also ordered Emily's book! Can't wait for it to arrive.
    3. My go to recipe is Chocolate Chip Cookies - I have the simplest recipe and they always work out really well. It's one of the few things I can cook that actually taste alright ;-)
    4. I found this cartoon print of a French Bulldog on Etsy the other day (it's sitting on a Vespa and Wearing a Striped Shirt). I LOVE it. And it will be mine on pay day!!
    5. I found this quote on Pinterest a little while ago by Kate Spade and I love it - "Playing Dress-Up begins at age five and never truly ends" - I get that..

  10. I'm a little late for Tea Party Tuesday!

    1. I ordered a peach ice tea...discovered this yesterday and cannot get enough of it
    2. I've just started 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov. I'm 10% of the way through and although I love the written style, the subject is an uncomfortable one.
    3. Chicken and leek pie from Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meals is go-to-recipe. Fairly easy to make but looks impressive and tastes fantastic!
    4. This wall paper - http://pinterest.com/pin/230316968413709123/ I'd love to make a feature wall with this map wall paper
    5. "home is where you are" - this is very apt for me right now, seeing as though we don't have a permanent base at the moment.

  12. I've been following your blog for a while but this is my first tea party, this is fun!

1/ I think I'll have some strawberry lemonade, sweet and tangy at the same time.
2/ I just picked up several books on learning French. I took it years ago and have wanted to try     and become more fluent so now I'm teaching myself.     3/ At a recent get-together I made a desert pizza with Nutella, semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate. It was a big hit!     4/ A new bed! Ours is a hand-me-down. I really want a Tempurpedic mattress, they are so comfortable!     5/ "It's kind of fun to do the impossible." -Walt Disney. I'm a HUGE Disney fan and Walt is such an inspiration because he followed his dreams even when those around him told him he was crazy. It gives me the motivation to follow my dreams even though they seem unattainable.

What a fun idea and great way to feel more connected!  Here goes...
1/ Skinny Vanilla Latte (always... sorry tea just doesn't cut it to keep me awake!)

2/ I've ordered the Paris Wife to read on my vacation.. in Paris.  I thought it appropriate!

3/ Do cocktails count?  Kidding... for food, watermelon, feta, and arugula salad to start then swiss chard, garlic, and anchovy pasta with grilled peaches over ice cream for dessert.

4/ I would love to purchase my own home, but in reality... a faux fur throw to welcome chilly fall nights!

5/ This week... "The more you strive and search for happiness, the more you overlook the possibility that it is here already." - Robert Holden on the blog this week

Thanks for hosting and will definitely return!

    1) It's so cold today, that a hot chocolate would be about right.
    2) I just finished Nemesis by Phillip Roth, I also can't wait to start Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer.
    3) Very simple, but pasta with mozarella and cherry tomatoes (and some basil) is always so good.
    4) A beautiful colorful rug
    5) way too many, i also have a whole pinboard full of quotes ;)
    happy thursday!
