Tea Party // 6

I hope that you have had a splendid week, and I'm so glad that we have arrived at another tea party!! I have some questions for you this week that I'm really excited to chat about! As usual, here are the week's questions and my answers are down below!

1/ As always, what are you ordering on this fine morning?
2/ On a Saturday morning, where are we most likely to find you?
3/ If you could have a home in any city in the world (in addition to the one you have) where would it be and what type of dwelling would you live in?
4/ What is a special skill you have that you are proud of?
5/ When it's time to get your sweat on, what type of exercise do you choose?

My answers here!

1/ One of the new Refreshers at Starbucks! Have you tried them? They are super yummy and apparently made with un-roasted coffee beans. I love the very berry hibiscus flavor.
2/ Lately I have been spending most weekends on the island where my family lives, soaking up the sunshine and taking a break from the faster paced city life. But during the rest of the year, most saturday mornings are spent getting work done while snuggled up in bed. If I'm lucky, they're spent snuggled up with tea and a movie.
3/ I think I would pick San Francisco! It seems like such an amazing city to me, and I think it would be so much fun to live there and take weekend trips to Santa Monica and other parts of the state. I would love to have a really old brick apartment with lots of character. Also, a cute bike and a puppy!
4/ I'm learning to knit right now! It's not so much a skill at the moment, since I'm still a beginner, but it's so much fun and I can't wait to create all sorts of cozy things for the coming cold months!
5/ I have been doing Bikram yoga (hot yoga) for almost 5 years now! It is by far my favorite work-out, and it's also so good for your mind! Some people don't like the heat, but for me it's the ultimate exercise. Plus, there are all sorts of cute little outfits that you can wear for class!

I can't wait to read your answers!

  1. 1. My summer Starbucks beverage of choice is an Iced Caramel Macchiato... caramel goodness, mmmmm.

    2. I really wish I could answer this question with Farmer's Markets and Garage Sales, but honestly, Saturday mornings I'm most likely still in bed. I wish I was a morning person so much!

    3. Any city in the world??? Today, since I am still coming off my California vacation I would have to say Santa Barbara, in a old Spanish-style bungalow, by the beach, of course.

    4. I'm going with the ability to lotion my own back. Yep, that's right. No need to ask for help with the sunscreen, I got it. It's a skill that requires a little skill, a little strategizing and a little flexibility. As you can imagine, I'm pretty proud.

    5. Absolutely yoga. After I'm done, I feel more like I've had a massage than a workout. And I have taken a couple of hot yoga classes. Everyone is so obsessed with it! I want to be like the cool kids ;)

  2. #1 Same as you!  It's my new obsession! I love this new berry refresher!  It's fresh and delicious, perfect for those summer days!
#2 It's kind of boring, but mostly I'm working in my comfortable home office!  Maybe I should get out and do my work at Starbucks!?
#3 It would on the west coast of the States, not sure where though.  Since I live in Montreal, I kind of have this east coast feeling everyday.  Living somewhere in California would be different than New York for example.
#4 I'm a knitter, like I'm proud to say that I'm a good one!  This is one of my only good skill and I can make mostly anything with yarn and needles.  Recently, I've started creating patterns and I love it!
#5 Pilates, Hatha yoga and spinning!  All of these are available at a gym near by my house that's open 24/7.  I love this place!

If you were not this far from me in Canada, I would be please to show you all my little tricks when it comes to knitting!

  3. 1.) I usually go for an iced vanilla latte.. but this time I wanna try the new lime drink at starbucks!
2.) Most Saturdays I'm in the city doing some errands or shopping. I live two hours from a major city so I gotta go often to not go crazy in my little town! I'm getting my hair done this Saturday.. so exciting!
3.) I would love to have an apartment/loft in NYC. One that has a great kitchen and brick walls :)
4.) hmmm.. I can paint! I haven't done much with it but I want to start up again
5.) I love hot yoga but alas there is no place to do it here :( Lately, I've been into running. Such a stress reliever!

I always look forward to these!! Also.. I just followed you on Twitter! I just got it yesterday haha.. Follow me at @Guest xo

  5. 1. A sparkling Elderflower pressé - with ice and a straw! Seriously refreshing and so good.

    2. In bed! I don't think I really know the meaning of the word 'morning' on a Saturday. But I too wish I could say I'd be at the bakery getting a fresh batch of bread or something...I'm just too lazy for that!

    3. Oh gosh that's a hard one...I'd have to say Dubai. It's one of my favourite places! I'd have a cute little apartment with gigantic windows overlooking the sea :)

    4. Hahahaa Bianca's comment below made me giggle so much. But I'm going to be boring and go with the good old baking and sugar craft skills! It's just so rewarding too :)

    5. Seems like the most popular answer here but for me it's yoga for sure. I've only picked it up recently but it's the most relaxing yet challenging form of exercise that I've done. I really look forward to that one hour per week that I just get to zone out and yoga-fy myself!

This was fun! :) Follow me @Guest

  10. I'm starting to get the feeling that us ladies like the yoga! ;) huge windows overlooking water are definitely a dream of mine as well!

  11. 1/ Hmmmm....how about a nice cool glass of strawberry lemonade.
2/ Unfortunately on Saturday you'll probably find me at work. I have a retail job so I usually work weekends :-(
3/ I know my husband would love a cabin up in Northern Michigan near where his parent's/grandparent's cabin is. I personally would love a home near Disney World. I know people who live there that can see the evening fireworks go off from their porch so a porch/deck would be mandatory, not sure about the rest of the home. I'm partial to modern furnishings (like what you'd see at Ikea).
4/ Not sure if this is a real skill or not but my mom says I have a celebrity magnet. I'm always seeing and meeting famous people, sometimes I know where they are and sometimes it's purely coincidental.
5/ A brisk walk on the treadmill. I'll turn on the old iPod with some tunes and usually fire up my Kindle too. It makes the time go by way faster then if I was just staring at a wall.

  12. disney fireworks from home?! it wouldn't get much better than that! I think I'd like to hang out with you so we can do some celebrity spotting! :)

  13. 1. A banana and strawberry smoothie
    2. At the moment I'm not sure. This week we find ourselves in a new spot in Canada. If the weather is good then in the park with a picnic
    3. I would love to have a retreat at Silver Islet in northwest Ontario. I've fallen in live with this place by the water. I've got a post going on the blog on Thursday about it.
    4. Packing a suitcase! This is a new skill I have acquired since moving. I can get a somewhat impossible about of clothes into a suitcase!
    5. Free weights in the gym to tone up. I'd love to start Bikram yoga. Once we are settled that is top of my list.

    Great answers Kendra!

  14. I was stuck in an airport all day yesterday so I hope I'm not too late to answer!

1/ I choose an iced marshmallow latte. SO YUM.

2/ On a Saturday morning, I'm usually cuddled up with my hubby, sleeping in late. Because who has anywhere to be on a Saturday morning?

3/ I would absolutely choose London. I'm pretty sure I have some British blood in me, and I love everything UK. So yes, London.

4/ I'm incredibly encouraging to people. I'm not boasting or bragging about that, it's just what I've been told, and something I'm quite proud of.

5/ Ew, no sweating, please and thank you. Hahah. I sweat too much as it is.

  15. 1. mint green tea, because for some reason i've been really wanting that lately.
    2. work. it's super lame. :(
    3. any city in the world?? there's too many choices!  i would probably pick a cute little apartment in the Tuscany region of Italy.
    4. introducing people to new amazing things, such as new restaurants, tv shows, or pinterest. i don't think this is an exact skill, but a lot of my friends say they were far more productive before i told them about some amazing thing or another! but what would they do without me?? haha.
    5. zumba and yoga. i love them both and really need to get back into a workout schedule. it's much needed.

  16. 1. Well, it's my first time here [commenting at least! I've been reading for a couple of months] so I'm going to stick with something familiar and safe - a passion iced tea from Starbucks.
    2. It varies while I'm home for the summer, but generally I'm sleeping in! At school, well... ok fine. It's sleeping in there too. I can only get myself up early on a Saturday if I make plans ahead of time!3. I feel like I'm cheating on this one, because I can already claim a home in both Chicago ]my dorm] and South Florida. If I could have one more, it would definitely be in Prague. I love it there, have been twice, and know a bunch of missionaries serving there right now. And I suppose it would have to be a flat.4. You're making me miss knitting! I had got just past beginner level by making my first baby afghan, when I stopped making time for it. I'm hoping to pick it up again after I graduate in a year and settle down in one place. Right now, this week at least, I'm proud of my very basic design skills because I'm having to use them at my internship. I love graphic design - I'll probably never be a professional designer [editing is my first love] but I love knowing just enough to handle small projects and learning as I go.5. Running, even though I've pretty much abandoned it for the summer. Too hot here!
