One of my favorite ways to spend my time on Pinterest is by looking through beautiful homes filled with sweet little things. Now that I have an apartment to fill, I love collecting pretty pieces and putting them to good use. One way to do this is by creating lovely settings for you and your loved ones. Take all of those awesome finds, and create a perfect place to enjoy your yummy meal!
I have put together some easy tips to creating an inviting table in your own home!
Collect dishes in your favorite colours and prints and try to amass a set that complements each other.
If you keep a coordinated colour scheme in mind when purchasing dishes, it will be much easier to style your table when the time comes.
For special occasions—or plain old tuesday afternoons that you want to make special—use quirky vessels for your drinks. These jars and metal lids are a fun addition and the striped straws go perfectly with the dishes.
Adding extra touches for your guests will make the table that much more memorable. Shipping tags, sweet stamps, and twine achieve this in a simple way.
Having multiple cups & glasses on the table not only gives more options for your guests but also adds another element to the table. Here I added a mint green bubble tea cup for herbal tea after the meal. Also, the glass bottle could be filled with lemon water, which is not only tasty but pretty too!
Easy extras like a plant from your apartment, some whimsical salt & pepper shakers, and mini latte bowls all add to the charm of the table.
Et voila! Whip up something easy and delicious to eat and you've got yourself a sweet little shindig!
Here is a summary of table styling tips!
1/ When purchasing dishes, try to stick with a color scheme that you love. This is especially helpful if you are on a budget and want dishes that work for Sunday morning pancakes in your pajamas, but are also pretty enough to pull out when you're having a party. This way you will have a collection that complements each other and is much easier to style.
2/ Adding extra special touches that are whimsical will make the table more memorable. Shipping tags, stamps, twine, and quirky plants all do this well.
3/ Unexpected items add charm to the table. Jars instead of fancy glasses, patterned straws, and mixing vintage with modern will make the table feel more fun and casual.
4/ Add something that you love from around your apartment to make sure the setting feels personal! The gold pot and plant from my desk, as well as my frog salt & pepper shakers were my version of this.
Now go forth and style!
