DIY: Wrapping Paper Garland

Celebrating special days and events is one of my favorite things to do. Not just big, important days, but little occasions as well. Thankfully, there are so many fun DIY ideas for party decorations, making your celebration memorable doesn't have to break the bank. Plus, with decorations like this, you can keep them around your home long after the festivities have ended!

This DIY is super simple and a great one to do while you catch up on episodes of your favorite show. Just watch out for the hot glue gun!

You are going to want lots of strips, so cut one prototype and use that to measure all the ones after. For my garland, I chose a roll of Rifle Paper Co. wrapping paper and went to town. There are so many beautiful options out there, but this one matched the colours in my place, so it was an easy choice :) It would also be awesome to mix and match old scraps of wrapping that you have from old gifts and such.

You only need a couple of supplies for this project: Your wrapping paper, a pair of scissors, and a hot glue gun. You could definitely use regular glue sticks, especially if you are getting little ones to help out with this project :)

Using your cut-up strips, fold them into circles and glue the underside of one end to the top side of the other. You will then interlace the next strip of paper and do the same. Repeat these steps until...

...you have a long string! You could make the garland as long as you want, or to fit a large entrance. This is one of the reasons this project makes such fun, inexpensive decorations. You can make a piece with lots of impact with just one roll of wrapping paper.

You could also hang it vertically for a different effect! Mine is hanging in my kitchen now :)

There you go! Fun and easy right? No go forth and create!
