An artist at heart, Kendra has had a passion for stellar design since she was big enough to save her $5 allowance for the latest issue of her favorite glossy. While her tastes have evolved over time, a love for thoughtful and innovative style never diminished. For the last 3 years, Kendra has called Vancouver, British Columbia home and the city has served her well; becoming the homeland for the blog she loves so dearly. As a student of communication at Simon Fraser University, her desire to write and design has only grown with her studies. After graduation she intends to pursue a freelance career in graphic design and fashion journalism. When she is not glued to her Macbook, Kendra can be found shopping the racks of her favorite downtown boutiques, nestled in a cozy cafe sipping tea, or watching scary movies with her awesome boyfriend.

Piece of Cake / Peace of Mind was born in 2009 out of a desire to explore smart design and pretty things. Though the blog has experienced a natural evolution as the author's interests shift, the true message of the blog has stayed true: this is a place where young women can come together and enjoy amazing design, and this is a place where style meets substance.
